Misty North Summer Hours
This summer (starting in June), we are going to be open Mondays from 5:30pm to 10pm.
We will be running some tournaments on Mondays, but we have not yet finalized the details.
Any requests?

what ever it is, it should start after 7
I say some sort of unique MTG standard variant. Since Standard is easily the most accessible (esp. for newer players…plus MTG could always use more players
), maybe a focus on the newer players would be in order. Perhaps a team type event where “newer” players are matched up with a “seasoned” players and somehow teaming together against other teams for stuff.
Another thing I would love to see is Pokemon events targeted towards the younger players where only ages 7-12 can play (i.e. no grown-ups or teens). No judgement or offense meant at all with this next statement, but some folks (not myself, but have heard some parents express concern) feel a little scared around Misty Mountain. Some of it is just prejudice towards folks who look different from them, some of it is concern over language and overly bad smack which can come from the older games, and some of it is the focus on MTG which some parents don’t like due to the PG-13 themes that they feel are not appropriate for other kids. (but have no issues with Pokemon). There are many ideas in combating this–the best one I have is to consider opening up and sectioning off the other side of the building rarely used and make it more “kid friendly”–not talking clowns here but just less fantasy, MTG, and more kid themes–JUST for the child players and a few select adult judges/facilitators who would supervise and those parents who wish to stay with their child. I have more ideas on this if you are ever interested…just let me know. L8TR!!
Chris I’m always up for listening to ideas. Hit me up some time in person.
